Family Program

42% (over 1 million) of single parent families are living on public assistance.  Families often find themselves “stuck” in the cycle of dependence on public assistance..  They want to improve their lives but don’t know how.  They desire a more stable life with their finances, their career and their relationships.  Our Family program is focused on helping these parents and their children. We believe that poverty can be generational.  Providing education, support and resources to both the parents and their children, we hope to break the cycle of poverty.    

Poverty is a tremendous challenge to overcome without a support network.  Mentors help each client chart their course to their unique course of their journey to financial independence.  Recognizing that clients need to develop a new mindset and new skill sets, mentors provide important guidance to parents and their children as they go through the program.  Incentives are provided as a system of rewards and recognition for completing small steps along the way.  They provide motivation and support for clients to continue their journey of escaping poverty.

For parents:

• Monthly rewards as the client reaches education, health or job progress.

• Monthly savings match up to $200 per month

• Paid internship to build resume and work experience

For children:

• Earnings program to reward good choices, good grades and good behavior

• Monthly savings match up to $100
