Liz Hunter: The Victor
I became introduced to Ripple of One through a friend. We both were searching for nonprofits to help us improve our financial situations and she ended up discovering Ripple. She recommended applying for the program, so the next day I did!
Before I joined Ripple I thought budgeting and saving money was completely impossible for me. I only had one job and I was barely surviving on that paycheck alone. I also was never taught how to properly budget or save. I never had a savings account; so I wasn't sure if I could effectively manage it. Due to the financial strain, I was in, my mental and emotional state suffered tremendously. I was always depressed and unsure of how to fix my problems. I struggled heavily trying to discover solutions to improve my situation!
In the beginning, it was difficult to manage the small amount of money I earned. I wasn't sure if I would be successful in the program and if it was the right fit for me. However, after I had met with my mentor care manager and financial coach, they helped me enormously! Through the Ripple program, I was able to establish two savings accounts; one for emergencies and another specifically for Ripple! AND... I have done a wonderful job of managing both of them! My Ripple support team helped guide me through the difficult times and because of it, my confidence has increased greatly. Even on my rough days, I know I have an entire support system behind me! My income has become easier to manage; along with monitoring my progress. The state of my family has also improved exponentially! I'm still working on maintaining a healthier emotional state, but luckily I have my Ripple family standing by me all the way! I know with my support team, I have mentors that care about my wellbeing and are here to listen to my thoughts.
Not only have I witnessed a change in my life, but in my kid's lives as well! They love the Little Ripplers program and enjoy learning about the importance of saving. They also like playing with the other children in the program and creating new friendships.
If you want to make a change but don’t know how Ripple is the place to be. Please don’t give up on yourself and the progress you’ll make! You CAN accomplish your dreams! Just give yourself the chance for hope and a better life. By reaching out to certain programs and nonprofits, you can discover a better opportunity for yourself. You and your family can accomplish financial stability. You don’t have to do this alone!
From my personal experience and history, I always felt trapped in my situation. Before Ripple, I never had the opportunity to enjoy a night out with my family or by myself! The decisions you make will affect you forever, so make sure you do what's best for you in the long run! I'm extremely thankful for all the love and care I have received from my Ripple family! Ripple has given me the strength and encouragement to enjoy the possibility of brighter days ahead!
